Get ready to PUT ON A HAPPY FACE!

We, the Members of Conrad Birdie Fan Club #2748, Sweet Apple, Ohio, join to say farewell to Birdie.  The mania builds at Birdville High School's Henry Schraub Theatre.

Join us KIDS in 1960 as our future husband visits to give ONE LAST KISS to Fan Club President Kim MacAfee...on "The Ed Sullivan Show"! He's going off to war, you know. Dial your telephone and tell the gang, because until he says Bye Bye, we've got A LOT OF LIVIN' TO DO.

BYE BYE BIRDIE has a book by Michael Stewart, music by Charles Strouse, lyrics by Lee Adams.  The Birdville High School production is directed by Christopher Williamson & Lauren Ayres.  Musical direction by Amy Allibon and Peggy Graff.

Fun Facts about Birdie:

The original Birdie opened on Broadway on April 14, 1960, and was a sleeper hit, shocking everyone with its success.

The story was inspired by Elvis Presley, who in 1957 became the first celebrity to be drafted into the army.

"Conrad Birdie" is word play on the name of Conway Twitty, the real-life country music star and Elvis rival originally slated to play Conrad. Twitty dropped out before the show began.

Bye Bye Birdie was originally titled Let's Go Steady.

Take the Pledge:

I, (Your Name Here), being of sound mind and body, do hereby promise to be loyal, courteous, steadfast and true, to Conrad Birdie and the United States of America . . . both indivisible, with liberty and justice for all!

The Conrad Birdie Song:

We love you, Conrad, oh, yes we do!
We love you, Conrad, and we’ll be true!
When you’re not near us, we’re blue!
Oh, Conrad, we love you!
